The Buffet at Paris Las Vegas is one of Las Vegas’ truly themed buffets. Walk down the cobblestone streets of the main hallway in the Paris hotel and enter the buffet, where a French village awaits. Complete with sky and trees, the buffet stations are building facades, complete with faux windows and planter boxes. In the middle of the main dining area, a free-standing cottage serves scrumptious desserts – more about that later.

Each buffet station represents a region of France, from Alsace to Burgundy. At least one offering from each station stays true to that region.

To begin, start at the salad bar. There are a few pre-made salads such as Caesar and a mozzarella tomato salad. Take a pass at the popular peel-and-eat shrimp and snow crab station, which is next to the French onion soup and potato leek soup.

At one end, a Mediterranean station serves grilled vegetables, pita bread, dolmates and hummus. Beside that, a crêpe station serves both sweet and savory crêpes. Try the forest, a combination of cheese, ham and mushrooms. For a sweet bite, the monkey includes Nutella, banana and whipped cream.

At the other end of the buffet, a French bread station offers crispy baguette, potato bread and Asiago cheese rolls with soft butter.

One of the most important things to remember is to not overcrowd your plate – you can always go back for more!

A second pass at the buffet is needed. This time, try the tender filet of sole or mini ham and cheese quiche. The Brussels sprouts are tender and the brie and bacon macaroni and cheese is tasty. One must-try is the curried cauliflower, a delicious, perfectly spiced side dish.

The carving station offers generous cuts of prime rib, pork, chicken duck a l’orange and other select meats of the day.

Back to the desserts: mini crème caramels, crème brûlée, chocolate covered strawberries and tiramisus are on the line. There is also soft serve custard, rich and creamy in chocolate and vanilla flavors.
